Another step forward

Just a quick update on my quest to run a 5:59 mile. Today it was again time for my fortnightly test run to see whether my training of the past two weeks has had any effect. I was hoping for a sub 6:30 mile this time as that would be another milestone achieved, but I wasn’t too sure whether that was manageable as I didn’t feel all too keen during warm-up.

I’m glad to say it was manageable after all, by a decent margin even, as I ran a 6:24 mile this time, 11 seconds faster than two weeks ago. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to keep up this rate of improvement, but needless to say I’m pretty please with this result! Great motivation to keep on doing those pesky interval workouts, they seem to pay off.
